Information: Introducing Neurobics, a unique brain exercise
program based on the latest neuroscience research. These deceptively
simple exercises help stimulate the production of nutrients that grow
brain cells to keep the brain younger and stronger. Neurobics uses the
five senses in unexpected ways and shakes up everyday routines. The
exercises are offbeat, fun, and can be done anywhere, anytime. The result:
a mind fit to meet any challenge--whether it's remembering a name,
mastering a new computer program, or staying creative in your work.
Pat's Comments: To
create new neuronal structuring in the brain, we need to have flexible,
nimble brains that can be open and receptive to new thoughts and ideas.
This nifty little book helps to create and maintain that flexibility using
simple, fun exercises. For example, one exercise has you place
different-color gelatin filters over your desk lamp. One reason for doing
this is that the occasionally odd effects of color (say, a purple Styrofoam
coffee cup) jars the brain's expectations and lights up more blips on
one's attentional "radar screen." The exercises are simple and
each is accompanied by an equally simple explanation as to how and why the
exercise is beneficial to you and your brain.
