Publisher's
Information: For decades neuroscientists, psychologists, and
an army of brain researchers have been struggling, in vain, to explain the
phenomenon of consciousness. Now there is a clear trail to the answer, and
it leads through the dense jungle of quantum physics, Zen, and subjective
experience, and arrives at an unexpected destination. In this
tour-de-force of scientific investigation, Evan Harris Walker shows how
the operation of bizarre yet actual properties of elementary particles
support a new and exciting theory or reality, based on the principles of
quantum physics--a theory that answers such questions as "What is the
nature of consciousness, of will?" "What is the source of
material reality?" and "What is God?"
Pat's Comments: This
book is a deep read. Don't select it as your first book on the quantum
physics-quantum mind connection! In the introduction the author states,
"We will look at the very heart of reality--beyond the edges of
Einstein's curved space, beyond the quantum jumps of atoms and molecules,
beyond quarks and leptons, and before the beginning of time. We will see
what space and matter are made of and what consciousness is, and we will
view the power of the mind. We will gaze through an open doorway, looking
beyond the lifeless forms that our lives have become--looking beyond, into
the very face of God." And he makes good on that promise.
